Printed French Cleat Bin Wall

This is a complete French-cleat storage wall for a garage, workshop or craft room, and every part is printed. You screw printed 45° cleat rails to the wall with #8 wood screws. Each rail is 200 mm long, and 4 mm steel pins join rails end to end so a row can be as long as you like. Every bin and accessory hangs from the same standard hanger, so you can lift any of them off and move it anywhere along a row. Pinned end stops close the ends of each row so nothing slides off. The kit includes three 80 mm scoop bins, one 160 mm wide bin (it uses two hangers), slide-in dividers and a shelf with graduated holes for screwdrivers, pliers and markers.

The bins and the tool shelf all bolt to a hanger through one shared pattern: two M3 holes, 30 mm apart vertically, with the hex nut captured in the back of the hanger. The hanger's 45° tongue drops into the rail bevel, and a foot at the bottom rests on the wall to keep the bin upright. Mount rail rows 140 mm apart, centre to centre. That leaves room to lift a hanger 12 mm clear of its rail without hitting the row above, plus a 70 mm gap between rows so you can reach into the lower bins. Put a screw into a stud wherever you can. On bare drywall, use rated anchors in the horizontal screw slots.

Assembly order:

1. Mark a level line and screw the first rail to the wall through its three slotted holes with #8 x 1-1/2 in wood screws, with the bevel facing up and toward the wall.
2. Push two 4 mm x 20 mm pins into the end of the rail, slide the next rail onto them, and screw it down. Repeat until the row is as long as you want. Start the next row 140 mm higher.
3. Put an end stop on each open end of every row with two pins. A drop of CA glue makes it permanent.
4. Drop an M3 nut into each hex pocket on the back of a hanger. Hold the bin's rear wall against the front of the hanger and drive M3x12 screws from inside the bin. The wide bin takes two hangers, 80 mm apart.
5. Bolt the tool shelf to its own hanger the same way.
6. Hook each hanger over a rail and let it drop until the foot touches the wall. Slide the dividers into the bin grooves.

Tuning notes: the hanger-to-rail fit has 0.5 mm of clearance, and the dividers have 0.4 mm per side. If a divider is tight, sand its ends; don't scale the part. The rail prints with its wall face down, so the bevel is a clean 45° overhang. The hanger prints on its side, so the load on the hook runs along the layers, not across them.
