Drywall Hole Patch Backer Bridge
A 140 x 36 x 5 mm backer plate for patching a hole in 1/2 in (12.7 mm) drywall. Tilt it in through any hole about 40–95 mm across, such as a doorknob punch-through or an old box cut-out. Pull the finger handle to hold it tight against the back of the wall, then drive #6 drywall screws through the wall into the 2.6 mm pilot holes 52–64 mm either side of centre. Screw your plug patch into the two centre holes. The handle has a 2.4 mm neck at the plate face, so it snaps off almost flush when you're done.
