2x4 Open-Stud Straddle Cord Hook
A heavy hook for open-stud garage walls. A U-channel slides over the 38 mm (1.5 in) front edge of a 2x4 stud and holds with two #8 wood screws through the side legs, which have 4.8 mm clearance holes. A gusseted 70 mm arm with a 35 mm upturned lip then carries extension cords, air hoses or ropes without adding a backer board.
