5 And 8 mm Shaft D-Flat Filing Jig
A bench jig for filing a 0.5 mm deep set-screw flat onto a 5 mm motor shaft (turning it into a 4.5 mm D-shaft) or an 8 mm smooth rod. Each shaft goes into its own blind slip-fit bore (5.3 and 8.3 mm), which stops it so the flat is 25 mm long. Only 0.5 mm of the shaft stands proud of the 60 × 30 mm filing face. File until the steel is flush with the face. An M3 screw in the side locks the shaft so it can't turn. The whole block is 90 × 30 × 18 mm.
