608 Bearing Balanced Wind Vane Rotor
A 175 mm wind vane rotor with a 65 mm tall swept tail fin. It turns on a 608 bearing (8 x 22 x 7 mm) pressed into a hub that is closed on top, so it sits on an 8 mm rod mast and pairs with an anemometer for a DIY weather station. There is a 19 mm ballast well under the arrowhead. Fill it with about 12 g of steel shot until the vane balances level on its bearing, so it points into the wind instead of sagging toward the tail.
