Self-Closing Gravity Gate Latch
A print-in-place gravity latch for a wooden garden or yard gate: a 92 x 46 x 5 mm backplate with an integral 6 mm pivot pin and capped head, and a 76 mm arm that swings on it, rides up a 42 degree ramp as the gate closes and drops behind the catch pin on its own weight. Screws to the post with four #8 wood screws (4.5 mm holes, M4 also fits); the catch is any 8 mm dowel or #10 screw driven into the gate so its shank stands 6-13 mm proud of the plate face. Press the tail down to open; a moulded stop post sets the resting angle.
