Set-Screw Patio Umbrella Rib Tip Cap

This is a replacement end tip for a patio umbrella rib. The rib slides into a 9 x 6.4 mm socket that is 26 mm deep, which takes steel U-channel ribs up to about 8.5 x 6 mm or round fibreglass ribs up to 6 mm. Two M3 set screws, self-tapped into raised bosses, clamp the tip to the rib. A 6 mm neck and an 11 mm knob hold the canopy's corner pocket, so the fabric stops tearing on a bare rib end. The tip prints lying flat, about 55 mm long, so canopy tension runs along the layer lines.
