Trash Cart Lid Steel-Pin Hinge Knuckle

This bolt-on lid knuckle replaces the moulded hinge pintles on curbside trash and recycling carts, which snap once the plastic goes brittle in the sun. You run a plain 8 mm steel rod through the cart's hinge ears, and the 40 mm-long knuckle turns on it in an 8.3 mm slip-fit bore. The knuckle's 40 x 40 mm flange has two 5.5 mm x 16 mm slots, so you can bolt it to the lid's rear lip with M5 bolts wherever the lid happens to line up. Print two, one for each side.
