V-Saddle Stair Handrail Wall Bracket
This is a replacement wall bracket for round or oval wooden stair handrails 32–42 mm across (1-1/4 to 1-5/8 in). The 45° V-saddle centres any rail in that range, so you don't need a bracket for one exact rail size. Two countersunk 5.5 mm holes, 72 mm apart, take #10 wood screws into a stud. A counterbored 4.5 mm hole under the saddle takes a #8 screw up into the rail. The rail sits about 43 mm off the wall. The bracket is 85 x 90 x 22 mm and prints on its side, so the downward load runs along the layers instead of across them.
