Bathroom Door Slide-In Strike Shim Set
Bathroom doors swell in shower humidity and then stop latching. This is a set of four snap-apart fork shims, 1.2, 1.6, 2.4 and 3.2 mm thick (up to 8.4 mm stacked), each 28 x 64 mm. You loosen the two strike screws and slide a shim in behind the plate from the side, so the screws never come out. The open-ended 8 mm screw notches fit #8 strike screws (4.2 mm) on centres anywhere from about 38 to 54 mm, and an 18 x 30 mm window clears the latch mortise. Edge notches (1 to 4) tell the thicknesses apart.
