Low-Voltage Old-Work Drywall Mount Bracket
This is an old-work mounting plate for a smart doorbell, thermostat or sensor when the wire comes out of bare drywall with no box behind it. The 110 x 80 x 5 mm plate has a raised rim that locates it in a 60 x 36 mm hole cut in the drywall, plus a 50 x 26 mm wire opening. Two 100 x 14 x 6 mm backer bars (they snap off the print) go in through the hole, sit behind the wall and get pulled tight by M4 screws, so the plate clamps drywall of any thickness. Eight 2.5 mm #6 pilot holes give the new device plate something solid to screw into.
