Hose Reel Flexure Ratchet Pawl Retrofit
This one-piece compliant ratchet pawl adds a lock back to a hose reel whose internal auto-stop pawl has worn smooth. Mount it to the reel frame with two #8 (4.2 mm) wood or self-tapping screws. The 10 mm long, 4.6 mm wide slots let you slide the 10 mm sawtooth into the hub spokes or teeth. A 2 mm × 40 mm flexure beam springs the pawl back. A rigid stop wall 2.5 mm away limits how far the beam bends so it can't be overbent and break. Pull the 16 mm thumb tab to free the reel and wind the hose back in. The part is 54 × 64 × 8 mm.
