Medicine Cabinet Recess Stud Ledger Bracket
This L-shaped ledger screws to the side face of the stud inside an old recessed medicine-cabinet hole. It gives you a 45 x 60 mm screw plate that sits flush with the wall face, so a smaller surface-mount cabinet can be screwed in across the oversized cutout without patching the drywall. Fix it with two #8 wood screws through horizontal 4.8 mm slots that adjust ±2.6 mm, enough to set it flush to 1/2 in or 5/8 in drywall. The cabinet's screws then bite into 3.2 mm #8 pilot holes, which run up to 18 mm deep through a built-in gusset. Print two, one for each side stud.
