Standoff Pivot Shutter Dog
This S-shaped shutter dog replaces the rusted or snapped one that holds exterior shutters open. A #10 (4.8 mm) wood or masonry screw goes through a 5.5 mm bore in a 36 mm standoff boss, and an 11 mm recess keeps the screw head flush. The heavier lower tail makes it hang upright on its own, so the upper hook laps over shutters 22–29 mm thick; sand the boss down for thinner shutters.
