Shot-Filled Dead-Blow Mallet Head For 1 in PVC
A 90 x 44 x 44 mm dead-blow mallet head with a 33.8 mm blind socket that takes a 1 in Schedule 40 PVC handle (33.4 mm OD), pinned with an M5 cross-bolt. Two sealed 45°-roofed chambers either side of the socket are filled with steel shot or sand through 8.2 mm ports, which you then plug with glued 8 mm dowel. The result is a non-marring, no-bounce mallet for knocking joints together, seating panels and tapping parts into place.
